About the Artist | Lower Lights Studi 1

My name is Katie Spannagel, and I'm a studio artist who enjoys creating artwork that is uplifting to the soul. I seek to capture the beauty in nature, communicate an encouraging message, or simply bring joy to others through my artwork. At an early age I began sketching and developing an interest in art. Over the years I continued to practice drawing, painting and illustrating personalized books, and I decided to pursue a degree in the field of art. I will graduate with my Masters of Liberal Arts this semester.

Lower Lights Studio is the name of my art studio, because I was inspired by the old song, "Let the lower lights be burning." The lower lights represent us as God's people, and it is our task to guide others to Him through our service, just as the lower lights on the shore help guide ships into the harbor. My hope is that more artwork can point others to the Savior.
